UN-OHRLLS, with the support of Canada, has launched an initiative which seeks to take stock of Least Developed Countries' (LDCs) access to multilateral sources of funding. It also aims to facilitate knowledge sharing amongst LDCs on best practices for increasing access to international financial resources. To this end, it hosted two virtual regional roundtables to ask questions, explore barriers, and build a better understanding of LDCs’ access to finance.
The roundtables were organized into two sessions, organized relative to geography/time zones: Monday, 28th - Wednesday 30th of November for Africa and Haiti LDCs, and Tuesday, 6th - Thursday 8th of December for Asia Pacific LDCs. These roundtables featured knowledge sharing presentations from multilaterals, climate funds and UN agencies to provide LDC attendees a better understanding of accessing finance that is available to them.
